The line up for Russia really impressed me. They just looked so fluid in their play, it’s not something you often see from national sides. The fact that there were seven players from Zenit St. Petersburg helped the side. They brought their good domestic form into the Euros. This team have laid down the marker for the other sides and will be confident of reaching the knockout stages. With a player like Dzagoev they will be a threat, he scored two goals today- the 22 year old has been hyped for a long time as the next big thing in Russia. Today he moved a step closer to justifying that claim.
While they won scoring four goals they were still guilty of missing a host of chances. They will need to be more clinical in front of goal for when they face sides with better defenses. Here is a run through of the players and the clubs they come from.
